Anita Lee, Founder/CEO of Twin Weaves Joined The Patient Revolution as Fellow.
The Patient Revolution, a non-profit n organization, is founded by Dr. Victor Montori, author of the book, “Why We Revolt”. Its mission is to convene a global community of Care Activists, a unique group of lay people and professionals, patients, and clinicians who are dedicated to transforming healthcare from an industrial activity into a deeply human one, capable of providing careful and kind care for all through local health system change, collaboration, research, and education.
Twin Weavers has formed a partnership with Integrated Research Institute, Inc.
The Integrated Research Institute, Inc., (IRI), based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to addressing health and educational disparities among minority and underserved populations. Guided by a commitment to understanding the cultural, historical, biological, political, and economic forces that shape inequities and quality of life, IRI and Twin Weavers have found a shared purpose, a unified vision rooted in justice, healing, and transformation.
Together, we are committed to expanding education, training, and community-centered research so that we do not replicate the harms we have witnessed across historically marginalized communities. Instead, we strive to generate knowledge and tools that uplift, empower, and restore trust.
IRI’s founder, Dr. Derrell Fox, brings more than three decades of experience advancing human health and wellbeing through translational research and evidence-based interventions. His multidisciplinary expertise, spanning quantitative and qualitative research, ethnography, human development, and the study of sexualities across continents, positions him as an invaluable collaborator and advisor to the Twin Weavers team.
Dr. Fox’s longstanding advocacy for American Indian/Native communities, Black/African American families, rural populations, aging adults, and sexual minorities in Oklahoma provides Nova with a rare and profound opportunity: to learn directly from communities too often unheard, and to support their needs with cultural humility and respect.
Under Dr. Fox’s leadership, the Integrated Research Institute, Inc. will serve as the primary research partner of Twin Weavers, Inc., advancing a shared vision to close gaps, dismantle inequities, and build systems that honor every life.
